Metric Visualizations look like display text and have to do with throughput such as incoming throughput of data, message throughput, processing throughput, throughput over time. When your intention is to add a metric-type visualization to a dashboard, the most expedient way to narrow the resource options to those pertinent to your objective, is to filter the resources by the search term "throughput."  This is illustrated in the procedures that follow.
