For Lumeta customers who have expressed interest in sending more complete device profile data to their Cisco Meraki Management Station, we now provide that capability through a Lumeta API call. This integration also brings device information from your Meraki platform to Lumeta.

  • Meraki source identifier called out in Lumeta Device Details.
  • Meraki-inflected device fingerprints, identification, and confidence-rankings.

  • Meraki-sourced devices and CIDRs can be added to Lumeta Target List and Lumeta Eligible List.

How It Works

The Rules

  • Meraki integration will be configured from Settings→Integrations.
  • Response from Meraki API is processed
    • If a device did not exist, Lumeta records the response will scan type "external" and adds the device to the Lumeta database
    • If a device already exists sureand discovered through different scan type, such as  Host Discovery, it will be retained and another response entry for "external" scan type will be added. Device details will show both host as well as external discovery as scan type
  • Device created or updated by Meraki APIs will add an attribute "externalSource" with the value "Meraki Management Station"
  • Device created or updated by Meraki APIs will add an attribute "vendor" with the value "Meraki"
  • Device created by Meraki APIs will follow same algorithm for target generation as any other scan types

Enable the SNMP parameter on your Meraki devices to allow responses to Lumeta queries.
